Congratulations to CEPR Researchers Dana Foarta and Andrey Simonov, who have been appointed as 2023 Stigler Center Affiliate Fellows. Appointed by the Stigler Center at University of Chicago Booth School of Business, the objective of this non-resident, three-year appointment is to strengthen and cultivate the global community of academics working on political economics, regulatory capture, and competitive markets.

Dana Foarta is a Research Affiliate for CEPR's Public Economics programme. Dana is Assistant Professor of Political Economy at the Stanford Graduate School of Business. Her primary research focus is to integrate theoretical models of domestic political decision making into the economic analysis of supranational institutions as well as the interaction of politics and markets: how political institutions shape market structures and how market structures, in turn, shape firms’ political influence.

Andrey Simonov is a Research Affiliate for CEPR's Industrial Organization programme. Andrey is a Gary Winnick and Martin Granoff Associate Professor of Business at Columbia Business School and an Affiliate Faculty Member in the Department of Economics of Columbia University. His research work is in the areas of quantitative marketing, empirical industrial organization, and political economy, and focuses on digital and media markets, such as news, advertising, and video games.
