CEPR now
has an AvantGo channel so you can access highlights of our site
anytime! The (free) AvantGo service gives you access to web
sites directly from your Palm OS,
Windows CE or Pocket PC handheld device, and from your web-enabled
phone. With AvantGo you
can browse your favourite Website on your mobile device or download
over 400 content channels that have been optimized for your device's small
screen, from content providers such as The Financial Times, The New
York Times, Business
Week, The Wall Street Journal, and The Economist.
Through your desktop, web sites that you select are downloaded or
updated on your handheld
every time you synchronize. You can then browse your downloaded pages
while disconnected. With a wireless modem, you can connect directly to the
Internet from your handheld and browse websites on the Internet.
CEPR's AvantGo
channel contains several key features from cepr.org, including:
- Lists of new Discussion Papers
- New
Reports and Books
- Upcoming
Meetings
-
CEPR
research that has made the news
-
Contact
details - For CEPR Research Fellows and Affiliates
When viewing a Discussion Paper abstract on your handheld you also have the option to 'Email me the details of this paper'. If you select this, the next time you sync your handheld you will receive (at an email address of your choice) a message with details of the paper you are interested in. When you next read your email on your desktop computer, this will remind you to download the full text of the Discussion Paper. You only need to enter this email address once: it is stored on the
AvantGo server and so should appear on your Palm after your next synchronization.
