€-coin continues to rise in September
Friday, September 29, 2017
- In September €-coin rose to 0.71 from 0.67 in August, increasing for the fourth consecutive month.
- The indicator was buoyed by ongoing growth in industry and the positive performance of share prices; the appreciation of the euro continues instead to have a negative effect.
- The €-coin indicator developed by the Bank of Italy provides a summary index of the current economic situation in the euro area. The indicator is an estimate of quarterly GDP growth shorn of the most erratic components (seasonal variations, measurement errors and short-run volatility). €-coin is published monthly by the Bank of Italy and CEPR.
- Next €-coin release dates: Friday 27 October and Thursday 30 November (preliminary).
