The nearest underground stations to CEPR are Barbican (MetropolitanCircle and Hammersmith & City lines), Farringdon (Metropolitan, Circle and Hammersmith & City lines and Thameslink Rail) or Old Street station (Northern line).

Heathrow Airport

Heathrow Express trains depart from Heathrow Airport every 15 minutes and the journey time to Paddington station is 15 minutes.  A standard return ticket will cost £34.00 if purchased from the ticket office before boarding. 

At Paddington, buy a Zone 1 single ticket (£4.70), or use an Oyster card (£2.20) for underground travel. Take the Circle or Hammersmith & City line 6 stops to Farringdon station.

Gatwick Airport

From Gatwick Airport, there is a Thameslink Rail Service directly to Farringdon station. The journey takes approximately 55 minutes and a single ticket costs £10.20. An any time return ticket (to return within 1 month) is £19.40.

Luton Airport

Luton Airport is served by a high frequency shuttle bus service connecting the airport with Luton Airport Parkway rail station in just 8 minutes.  Passengers arriving at the airport or at the station without purchasing a rail ticket will pay a bus fare of £1.50 single, £2.50 Standard Open Return. 

At Luton Airport Parkway station, take the East Midlands train or the First Capital Connect train directly to Farringdon Station (journey time approximately 40 minutes; a standard open return costs £27).

Stansted Airport

The Stansted Express departs every 15 minutes during peak hours, seven days a week. The journey time is 40 minutes and a return ticket will cost £33.20. The station is located within the terminal and the line goes to Liverpool Street station in London.

At Liverpool Street Station, buy a Zone 1 single ticket (£4.70) or use an Oyster card (£2.20) for underground travel. Take the MetropolitanCircle or Hammersmith & City line 2 stops to Barbican station.

City Airport

London City Airport is on the DLR line with a 22-minute journey time to Bank station. The DLR is integrated with the underground system. Either an oyster card (fare £2.70/£3.20) or single ticket for Zones 1-3 (£4.70) will be valid. The DLR station is situated 50 yards from the Airport terminal.

From Bank station, take the Northern Line 2 stops north to Old Street station and walk from there, or change at Moorgate station to the MetropolitanCircle or Hammersmith & City 1 stop to Barbican Station.

King’s Cross – St. Pancras International

If you are travelling by Eurostar, you will arrive at St. Pancras International station. From St. Pancras International it is a short walk (follow the signs) to King’s Cross and St. Pancras underground station, where you will need to buy a Zone 1 single ticket (£4.70) or use an Oyster card (£2.20) for underground travel. Take the MetropolitanCircle or Hammersmith & City line 1 stop south to Farringdon.

Taxis

Taking a taxi from any London airport (and in particular Heathrow, Gatwick, Stansted or Luton) to the centre of London will take longer than taking a train and will cost a small fortune. A taxi ride from Paddington Station to CEPR takes between 20 and 50 minutes depending on traffic. A taxi ride from King’s Cross and St. Pancras takes about 10 to 20 minutes. A taxi from Victoria Station takes between 20 and 50 minutes. A taxi ride from Liverpool Street Station takes about 10 to 20 minutes.
