The main plenary sessions will take place in Ballroom I. The parallel sessions are split between Ballroom I and Ballroom II.

Registration starts at 2.15pm on Tuesday 24 May and will take place in the Foyer. Everything will be clearly signposted with the hotel staff on hand to assist. 

There is free wi-fi throughout the hotel.

Lunch and refreshments taken during ESSIM (as noted on the programme) are covered by the organisers. 

Directions to the Hilton Helsinki Strand from Helsinki Vantaa Airport

You can catch a taxi from the rank outside the arrivals terminal direct to the hotel with a journey time of 30 minutes (costs around €45). 

A cheaper alternative is the catch the Bus 617 which takes you to all the way to Hakaniemi (last stop) which is 400m from the hotel. A ticket costs €5.50 which you can buy from the driver.

Accommodation

If requested, all rooms have been booked at the Hilton Helsinki Strand also. Check-in is from 2pm and check-out is at 12pm. There is a 24 hour reception is you arrive late into the evening. 

 

Dinner arrangements (8pm on Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 May)

On the first two evenings of ESSIM - Tuesday 24 and Wednesday 25 May, dinner is provided at the Hilton Helsinki Strand in room Ariadne I-II at 8pm (please check your email confirmation if you are invited to the dinner). It will consist of a 'Modern Scandinavian' buffet on Tuesday and an 'Asian' buffet on Wednesday. Food costs are covered by the organisers along with a small drinks package per person. 

Dinner and boat cruise (Thursday 26 May - more details TBC)

All programme participants and international general participants are invited to a private cruise and dinner on Thursday 26 May which will tour around the Helsinki Peninsula. The cruise starts at 18.30 from Hakaniemi (a few minute walk from the Hotel). It will return 2.5-3 hours later. The cruise will include a buffet dinner. Again the costs are covered by the organisers.

Please do let the CEPR events team know as soon as possible if you do not wish to attend the cruise.
