Audio Visual Equipment
The conference room will be equipped with a laptop and data projector. Please send your slides to [email protected] at least one week in advance of the conference, so that they can be uploaded in advance.
Wi-Fi will also be available in the conference room (password: van-leer). Further details will be provided on the first day.
We selected two hotels located near the Conference venue for your convenience. You have to make the reservation on your own via the Internet using a special promotion code (in two of them). Please book asap since the block of rooms reserved for participants (at a special rate) will be available only for as long as there is availability. For those participants that have been informed that they will receive accommodation funding, please be aware that reimbursement for the hotel will take place after the conference. Please keep booking confirmation and/ or receipts which confirm the price of the room. Additionally, participants that are presenting at the School should be aware that CEPR will book and pay for accommodation in advance of the School/ Conference.
If you have any problems booking accommodation, please do inform Chloe Smith ([email protected]).
May is a very busy time in terms of tourism and therefore reservations for hotels and airline tickets should be made as early as possible.
The price of a room for a single person is 117 euro and 132 euro for a couple. They will set aside 50 rooms for Conference participants. The promotion code is “CEPR”.
2. Dan Panorama
The price of a room for a single person is between $185 (standard) to $230 (executive). ($ indicates US dollars.) There is an additional $40 charge for a couple. They will put aside 25 rooms for conference participants. This hotel may require a minimum number of nights (between 3 and 5). Go to the link and if necessary select “Dan Panorama Jerusalem”. The promotion code is “cepr”.
When you arrive at Tel Aviv’s Ben Gurion Airport, please exit the building and look for the official Hadar taxi rank. A taxi from the airport to Jerusalem costs around 250 shekels (roughly, about US $65) and takes about 45 minutes (in normal traffic). A shared taxi is also a more economical and popular possibility.
A welcome reception will be held on Wednesday 17th May at 18:30 in the courtyard of St Andrew’s Church (the Scottish Guesthouse) facing the Old City walls of Jerusalem. The Church is within walking distance of the hotels and the Van Leer Institute and has an amazing view of the walls of the OLD City.
The conference dinner will be held on Thursday 18th May at 19:30 at the restaurant Eucalyptus, located across the street from the Jaffa gate to the Old City of Jerusalem. The restaurant is also walking distance from the hotels and the Van Leer Institute.
On Tuesday 16th May dinner will be arranged for School participants.
We will try to accommodate dietary restrictions only if indicated in advance. Please inform Chloe Smith ([email protected]) if you have any dietary requirements.
On Friday 19th May, there will be a walking tour of the Old City of Jerusalem with a professional guide. The tour will start right after the end of the Conference and will be finished by sundown. Please inform Chloe Smith ([email protected]) to know in advance if you will join the tour.
