€-coin improves in August
€-coin rose in August (to 0.29, from 0.16 in July)
- €-coin rose in August (to 0.29, from 0.16 in July).
- The indicator was helped by employment growth and by the overall improvement in household and business confidence, which more than offset the impact of industrial weakness.
- The €-coin indicator developed by the Bank of Italy provides a summary index of the current economic situation in the euro area. The indicator is an estimate of quarterly GDP growth shorn of the most erratic components (seasonal variations, measurement errors and short-run volatility). €-coin is published monthly by the Bank of Italy and CEPR.
- The next publication dates for €-coin are Friday, 4 October 2024 and Wednesday, 6 November 2024 (to be confirmed).
