ERC grants are awarded to candidates with a scientific track record showing great promise and an excellent research proposal. Grants are given up to €1.5 million for 5 years, across all fields of research, for promising early-career researchers with 2 to 7 years experience after PhD. 

  • Matthias Heinz, CEPR Research Affiliate in the Organizational Economics (OE) programme, was awarded an ERC starting grant for his research project on Managing People - How Employees' Social Preferences Shape the Returns to Management Practices. Matthias is Assistant Professor for Personnel Economics at the University of Cologne, you can find his CEPR Discussion Papers and VoxEU output here.

  • Mara Squicciarini, CEPR Research Fellow in the Economic History (EH) programme, , was awarded an ERC starting grant for her research project on Education, Diversity, Innovation, and Politics.   • Nicola Pavanini, CEPR Research Affiliate in the Industrial Organization (IO) programme, was awarded an ERC starting grant for his research project on Welfare, redistribution and financial stability in housing and mortgage markets.   • Federica Romei, CEPR Research Fellow in the International Macroeconomics and Finance (IMF) and the Monetary Economics and Fluctuations (MEF) programmes, was awarded an ERC starting grant for her research project on Heterogeneous agents in heterogeneous countries.
