CEPR is working in partnership with UBS to celebrate contributions of women in economics, with a series of portraits and video interviews on a dedicated website.

The twelfth economist to be featured is Stephanie Schmitt-Grohé, Professor of Economics at Columbia University and a CEPR Research Fellow since 1998. She is currently a fellow in the International Macroeconomics, International Macroeconomics and Finance, and Monetary Economics and Fluctuations.

Schmitt-Grohé is an expert on international macroeconomics and monetary stabilization policies. Her work covers a wide range of topics, addressing unemployment, inflation, or trade. The economist’s key focus is on effective tools for government intervention.
