Economic Counsellor at Organisation for Economic Co-Operation and Development (OECD)

Aida Caldera Sánchez is Economic Counsellor to the OECD Chief Economist and head of the Chief Economist office. Previously, Aida held several positions in the OECD Economics Department including head of the European Union and Euro Area desk, head of the the Spain and Ireland desk, leader of the economic resilience unit and economist for the United States, Mexico and Chile desks. Prior to joining the OECD, Aida worked for several leading European organisations doing policy-oriented economic analysis including the European Investment Bank, France’s Central Bank, and the think-tank Bruegel. Earlier on in her career Aida worked in the private sector as a financial analyst. Aida holds a PhD in Economics from the Université Libre de Bruxelles, a post-graduate degree in international economics from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy and a bachelor degree in quantitative economics from Universidad Complutense de Madrid.
