Alberto Batinti

Dr. Batinti is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Political Science at the Sapienza University of Rome. Before, he was an Associate Professor at the Department of Health Management & Policy at the University of New Hampshire and at the International Business School Suzhou - Xi'an Jiaotong-Liverpool University. Batinti received a Ph.D. in Economics from the George Mason University in 2012. His research interests are at the intersection of the fields of political economy, public choice, healthcare policy and health innovation, and political economy of healthcare. On these topics, he published research papers in peer-reviewed academic journals such as Economica, Economics & Politics, Public Choice, the European Journal of Political Economy, Kyklos, Economics and Human Biology, and Health Economics. In 2020, he co-authored a book on the political economy of healthcare, which was published by the Cambridge University Press in June 2020, followed by coediting the Edward Elgar Handbook on the Political Economy of Health Systems, published in 2023.
