Alexander Hodbod

Counsellor to ECB Representative to the Supervisory Board at European Central Bank

As a counsellor to ECB members of the Supervisory Board, Alex Hodbod advises on a broad range of financial, bank supervision, and macroeconomic topics. His previous work at the ECB focussed on macroprudential policy, financial regulation, and international negotiations to finalise Basel III. In his earlier career, Alex worked in various UK Government Economic Service roles based at HM Treasury – focussing on fiscal policy, infrastructure, and financial stability. He received his MSc in Specialized Economic Analysis (International Trade, Finance and Development) from the Barcelona Graduate School of Economics and his BA in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from Oxford University. His research interests focus on banking and financial stability.
