Alireza Naghavi

Professor of Economics at University Of Bologna

Alireza Naghavi is a full professor of Economics at the University of Bologna and an adjunct professor at John Hopkins University SAIS and Dickinson College in Bologna. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from University College Dublin and has published in journals such as Economic Journal, Journal of Economic Growth, Journal of International Economics, and Journal of Development Economics. He is currently leading the Italian PRIN project "New Protectionist Policies: Political Determinants and Economic Consequences", and has completed several in the past, including the European Commission’s FP7 project INGINEUS on Global Innovation Networks for which he was the global scientific coordinator. He has been a visiting scholar at institutions in Norway, Japan, Australia, France, Taiwan, Canada, and Slovenia. His research interests focus on international trade and institutions and include topics such as intellectual property rights, firm organization, innovation, migration, and the economics of religion.
