Alison Andrew is a Senior Research Economist at the Institute for Fiscal Studies. Her work focuses on the origins of socio-economic and gender inequalities. She has a particular focus on India where she is currently researching the link between women’s participation in paid work and their power at home; long run changes in women’s time use; the factors that shape parental decision making about daughters’ marriage and education; and the impact of community-based programs around gender norms and violence. She also has ongoing work on early childhood education and on gender-inequality in paid and unpaid work in the UK.
