Allen Monks works as an economist in the European Commission’s Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs (DG ECFIN). He joined the European Commission in 2014, in a team responsible for country-specific macroeconomic surveillance. Since 2018, he has worked in the fiscal policy and surveillance unit, dealing with the implementation of the Stability and Growth Pact and the coordination of fiscal surveillance. Before joining the European Commission, he worked at the Central Bank of Ireland and the Banque de France.
