Alvar Kangur

Alvar Kangur is a Special Assistant to the Director in the European Department of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Previously he was a senior economist on Italy and Greece and worked in the Fiscal Affairs Department of the IMF. Throughout his career at the IMF, he has obtained considerable experience in crisis management. His research interests include fiscal and monetary policy, growth, and comparative development. He holds a DPhil from the University of Oxford.
