Amadou Sy

Deputy Division Chief, Africa, at the IMF Institute at International Monetary Fund

Amadou Sy, is Deputy Division Chief, Africa, at the IMF Institute where he teaches macroeconomics and finance. Previously, he worked on emerging markets and global financial stability in the IMF’s Research Department. He has also worked in the IMF’s Monetary and Capital Markets Department, as a member of surveillance and program missions, financial sector assessment programs (FSAPs), and technical assistance work. He recently contributed to the IMF’s work on Sovereign Wealth Funds (Santiago Principles) and has published in a number of books and journals. His current research currently focuses on macro-financial linkages, financial regulation and capital markets development. He holds a Ph.D. in Finance from McGill University. He is a CFA Charter holder and a Certified Financial Risk Manager (FRM).
