Amiyatosh Purnanandam is a Michael R. and Mary Kay Hallman Fellow and an Associate Professor of Finance at Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. His research focuses on banking, corporate finance and credit risk. In his recent work, he has analysed causes and consequences of bank failures, and the subprime mortgage crisis. His research has been published in several finance and economics journals.
Amiyatosh completed a Bachelor of Technology in Electrical Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Kharagpur in 1993, his MBA from Indian Institute of Management, Lucknow in 1995, and a PhD in Finance from Cornell University in 2005. Prior to joining Cornell, he worked for ICICI, a leading financial institution of India, for four years.
