Andrea Colombo is a political economist with extensive experience in quantitative research, policy analysis and strategic consulting for government agencies, ministries and high-level decision-makers. He is currently an economist at the OECD and previously worked at the World Bank and at the Université libre de Bruxelles. At the OECD, Andrea has been working on strategies for the revitalization and resilience of the manufacturing sector in rural areas across the European Union. He has also supported the design of strategies for sustainable structural transformation, for enhancing public institutions' quality, and for strengthening implementation capacity in Viet Nam, Thailand, the Western Balkans and Ivory Coast. Andrea holds a PhD in Economics from the Université libre de Bruxelles - Solvay Brussels School of Economics and Management, where he is still an active researcher and lecturer. His PhD thesis investigates the impact of decentralisation reforms on service delivery and quality of governance in Belgium, Brazil and Burundi.
