Andreas Knabe

Andreas Knabe is Juniorprofessor (Assistant Professor) of Labor Market and Social Policy at the Free University Berlin and a Research Affiliate of CESifo Munich. He has studied economics at the Otto-von-Guericke-University Magdeburg and the University of Kentucky. His research is focused on both theoretical and empirical labour economics. In his theoretical research, he analyses the modeling of labour market policies in imperfectly competitive labour markets (wage subsidies, collective bargaining, minimum wages). His empirical research is mainly in the area of “happiness economics”, focusing on the impact of labour market experiences on various dimensions of subjective well-being. His research has been published in, inter alia, the Economic Journal, Labour Economics, Economica, Economics Letters, Applied Economics and Kyklos.
