Andrew Filardo is the Head of Monetary Policy at the BIS, having previously been the Head of Economics for Asia and the Pacific in the BIS Representative Office for Asia and the Pacific. Prior to joining the BIS, he served on the staff of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, was an Assistant Vice President at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City, and an Adjunct Associate Professor at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. He has authored many articles on monetary policy, international macroeconomics and globalisation. He received his PhD in economics from the University of Chicago.
