Angela Redish

Professor of Economics at University of California Berkeley, Haas School of Business

Angela Redish is Professor of Economics at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests are in the history of monetary systems including the evolution of monetary systems in Western economies in Canadian monetary institutions. In addition to numerous journal articles, she has authored, Bimetallism: An economic and historical analysis and co-authored with Steve Cechetti Money, Banking and Financial Markets (Canadian edition). She obtained her PhD and MA from the University of Western Ontario, and BA from Wilfrid Laurier University. She has served as Head of Economics, and is currently Vice Provost, at the University of British Columbia. In 2000-01 she served as Special Adviser at the Bank of Canada and from 2001 to 2011 was on the CD Howe Monetary Policy Council.
