Anish Tailor has been a Research Analyst at the Peterson Institute for International Economics since September 2013. He works with Senior Fellows Jacob Kirkegaard and Nicolas Véron on issues related to financial systems and financial reform, including global financial regulatory initiatives and current developments in the European Union. Tailor obtained his master's degree in international trade and investment policy from the Elliott School of International Affairs at the George Washington University, where he focused on private sector development in emerging markets and the macroeconomic impacts of financial market expansion. He earned a bachelor's degree in finance and international studies from Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas.
As a Research Analyst at the International Monetary Fund, he specialised in quantitative statistical modeling for emerging-market data. He also worked in Singapore for the US Foreign Commercial Service providing American small and medium enterprises with research on political and economic risk. During his graduate studies, Tailor consulted for PPG Industries in Mumbai, India, through the Global Business Project. He was also a Global Macroeconomic Analysis Intern at the Overseas Private Investment Corporation and the Institute of International Finance.
