Anita Shet

Anita Shet has a background in pediatric infectious diseases and epidemiology with a primary research focus on promoting health and preventing childhood infections. After completing her MBBS and MD training in Pediatrics, she trained in pediatric infectious diseases, and received her doctorate in public health sciences and epidemiology. Her research interests are aimed at the reduction of child mortality and morbidity worldwide, with a focus on immunization, vaccine-preventable infections and emerging infections in India and other LMICs. Her current work is focused on reducing pneumonia burden among mothers and children, optimizing routine immunization coverage, and establishing integrated primary care for maternal and child health. She has over 120 peer-reviewed scientific publications, and book chapters, and is an enthusiastic teacher engaged in mentoring students.
