Arito Ono

Senior Economist, Mizuho Research Institute; and Visting Lecturer at the Graduate School of Economics at Waseda University

Arito Ono is a Senior Economist at the Mizuho Research Institute and a Visiting Lecturer at the Graduate School of Economics at Waseda University. He was a Senior Economist at the Institute for Monetary and Economic Studies, Bank of Japan (2009-2011) and is a member of several working groups at the Financial System Council, Financial Services Agency (2011-2014). He received a B.A. in economics from the University of Tokyo and a Ph.D. in Economics from Brown University. His main fields of research are banking and corporate finance, and he has published papers in the Journal of Money, Credit, and Banking, the Journal of Banking & Finance, the Journal of Financial Stability, among others. He is a member of the Study Group on Corporate Finance and Firm Dynamics at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade, and Industry (RIETI), the Study Group for Earthquake and Enterprise Dynamics (SEEDs), and the Money & Finance Research Group (MoFiR).
