Asad Islam is currently an Associate Professor at the department of Economics at Monash University. His research interests are primarily in the areas of development economics and demography. His recent research focuses on education, social networks, technology adoption, microfinance, and risk-sharing mechanisms of households. His research works span in a number of countries including Bangladesh, India, Pakistan, China, Cambodia, Uganda, and Tanzania.
