Athanasios Tagkalakis

Athanasios O. Tagkalakis is Adviser-Economist at the Economic Analysis and Research Department of the Bank of Greece. His research expertise covers empirical macroeconomics and in particular public finance issues. Prior to his current position, he was formerly an Economist at the Council of Economic Advisors of the Ministry of Finance (2006-2009, Athens-Greece) and an Economist at the Structural Economic Analysis Division of the Bank of England (2004-2005). He has published several articles in academic journals such as Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Macroeconomics, Public Choice, Economics Letters, IZA Journal of European Labour Studies etc. Athanasios holds a PhD in Economics from the European University Institute in Florence, Italy, a Master’s in Economics from the University of Warwick, UK, and is a graduate from the University of Athens, Greece.
