Ayumu Tanaka

Research Fellow at the Graduate School of Economics at Kyoto University, Research Associate at Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI), Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics at Setsunan University

Ayumu Tanaka is concurrently a Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics, Setsunan University, a Research Fellow at the Graduate School of Economics, Kyoto University, and a Research Associate at the Research Institute of Economy, Trade and Industry (RIETI). His research expertise covers international trade, cultural economics, exports and foreign direct investment by Japanese firms, trade in services, international travel, and natural disasters. Prior to his current position, he was a Fellow at RIETI. He earned his Ph.D. in Economics from Kyoto University in 2010. He has published on topics such as firm productivity and foreign direct investment and the causal effects of exporting on Japanese workers.
