Bas Jacobs

Sijbren Cnossen Professor of Public Economics at Erasmus University Rotterdam

Bas Jacobs is the Sijbren Cnossen professor of public economics at the Erasmus School of Economics of the Erasmus University Rotterdam. He is a research fellow of the Tinbergen Institute and CESifo. Jacobs' research crosses the borders of public finance, optimal taxation, welfare economics, macroeconomics, human capital theory and labor economics. He has been a tax policy consultant for the IMF and the World Bank. He regularly writes opeds and essays in main Dutch newspapers and magazines and he blogs on economics and politics.
