Bas Straathof is Programme Leader at the Netherlands Bureau for Economic Policy Analysis (CPB), a think-tank of the Dutch government. His main areas of research are innovation policy, including intellectual property rights, and the economics of ICT. He received an MSc in Development Economics from the Erasmus University Rotterdam and wrote his PhD thesis on product variety in theories of economic growth at the University of Maastricht.
