Benjamin Kay

Senior Economist at Federal Reserve Board Of Governors

Benjamin Kay is a senior economist in the Policy Effectiveness and Assessment section with the Federal Reserve’s Division of Supervision and Regulation. Previously he worked as an economist in the US Treasury’s Office of Financial Research. He has also worked as policy advisor in the US Treasury’s Office of State and Local Finance where he assisted in the government response to Hurricane Maria and as a quantitative risk manager for Bank of America and Morgan Stanley. His research focuses on the business cycle, corporate finance, and interactions between asset markets and the real economy, with a policy focus on bank regulation and systemic and macroprudential risk management in housing, housing finance, and consumer credit. He received his Ph.D. from the University of California, San Diego
