Bernd Ebersberger holds a Professorship with the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI), Innsbruck, Austria and a post as Guest Scientist with the Technical University of Berlin, Germany. In his research Bernd focuses on innovation systems & policy, open & interactive innovation and on the internationalisation of innovation activities. He received his MA in Economics from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, in 1994 and his MBA from the University of Augsburg in 1997. In 2001 he received a PhD in economics from the University of Augsburg.
From 1997 to 2002, Bernd Ebersberger held a Researcher Post with the University of Augsburg. From 2002 on up until 2004 he was Senior Researcher and Team Leader at VTT Technology Studies, Espoo, Finland, at the same time Visiting Researcher at Statistics Finland, Helsinki, Finland. From 2004 Bernd Ebersberger has been with the Innovation Systems & Policy department of Fraunhofer Institute for Systems and Innovation Research (ISI) in Karlsruhe, Germany.
