Before becoming Deputy of the IMF Low-Income Country Strategy Unit, Brad McDonald was the IMF Representative to the WTO and worked on IMF country operations in Africa, the Baltic countries, and central Asia. He was a Staff Economist at the WTO Secretariat and the U.S. Department of Agriculture Economic Research Service, and was an early contributor to the Global Trade Analysis Project (GTAP). He is a graduate of Bemidji (Minnesota) State University and completed a joint Ph.D. in Economics and Agricultural Economics under Robert Baldwin at the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
