Caroline Van Rijckeghem

Adjunct Professor of Economics at Bogazici University

Caroline Van Rijckeghem is adjunct faculty in the Department of Economics at Bogazici University, Istanbul and Consultant for various institutions including the International Monetary Fund’s Institute for Capacity Development and Fiscal Affairs Department. She has published in the areas of financial crisis and financial contagion, including a book on the Turkish financial crisis and several articles on the common lender effect and the effect of the political structure on sovereign debt crises. She has also written several articles on the Turkish economy, with a recent focus on Turkish saving. Formerly, she worked in the Fiscal Affairs Department and Research Department of the International Monetary Fund and at Sabanci University, Istanbul. She holds a PhD from UC Berkeley.
