Carsten Schroeder is head of “Applied Panel Data Analyses” in the Socio-Economic Panel (SOEP) at the German Institute for Economic Research in Berlin (DIW Berlin), and Professor of Public economics and social policy at the Free University Berlin. He is managing editor of the Journal of Income Distribution, member of the committee of social policy of the German association of economists, and member of the International Board of Directors of the LIS Cross-National Data Center in Luxembourg. His research mainly focuses on distributional economics and policy evaluations. His research is published, amongst others, in the European Economic Review, Journal of Public Economics, Journal of Business and Economics Statistics, and the Journal of Economic Inequality.
