Chinhui Juhn received her B.A. from Yale University in 1984, and her Ph.D. from the University of Chicago in 1991. She is currently Henry Graham Professor of Economics at the University of Houston, a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research (NBER) and a Fellow at the Institute for the Study of Labor (IZA). Professor Juhn’s research has focused on U.S. wage inequality and its causes and the impact of changing wage structure on other labour market outcomes, such as employment and unemployment, and the racial wage gap. Her current work examines issues in earnings instability, family labour supply, impact of trade reforms on wage inequality and gender gap in developing countries, and the effect of disease and mortality on fertility decisions in Africa.
