Christian Lau is a Counsel in the Geneva office of Sidley Austin LLP. He is a recognized lawyer with over 20 years of experience in international trade matters. His practice focuses on resolving high-stakes international trade disputes, where necessary through litigation before adjudicators of the World Trade Organization and other trade-related dispute settlement mechanisms. These disputes often involve, and hinge on, complex economic evidence. Christian further advises governments, companies and trade associations on the consistency of domestic policies with international trade law obligations, as well as trade negotiations, and trade policy and trade regulations more generally. He holds a Master’s in Public Policy and Management from Konstanz University (Germany), as well as a Graduate Diploma in Law from BPP University (UK) and an LL.M. from Leiden University (The Netherlands).
