Christian Schmieder

Economist at International Monetary Fund

Christian Schmieder is an Economist at the IMF, dealing with a wide range of global financial stability issues. Prior to joining the Fund, he headed the Basel II project at the European Investment Bank and worked for the Banking Supervision Department of Deutsche Bundesbank. He has also worked for the private sector, including for DaimlerChrysler and Deutsche Bank. Christian holds a PhD in Finance and a Master degree in Industrial Engineering and Management. He has authored various papers on banking and portfolio management.
