Christiane Baumeister

Christiane Baumeister is the Lambert Family Professor of Economics at the University of Notre Dame. She is an empirical macroeconomist whose research focuses on the dynamics of energy markets and the transmission of monetary policy. Much of her recent work is concerned with Bayesian inference in structural vector autoregressive models. Her research has been published in Econometrica, the American Economic Review, the American Economic Journal: Macroeconomics, the Journal of Monetary Economics, and the Review of Economics and Statistics, among other scholarly journals. She is a Research Associate at the National Bureau of Economic Research and a Research Fellow at the Centre for Economic Policy Research. She serves as Associate Editor for the Journal of Monetary Economics, the Review of Economics and Statistics, the Journal of Economic Dynamics and Control, and the Energy Journal. She also holds positions as Research Professor at the Research Center of Deutsche Bundesbank and the University of Pretoria. Prior to joining Notre Dame in July 2015, she was a Principal Researcher in the International Economic Analysis Department at the Bank of Canada.
