Cristhian Seminario-Amez is a PhD candidate in Economics at the University of Chicago (expected completion in June 2021). His research interests span applied macroeconomics, labor economics, and financial economics. One strand of his current work studies the role of informal jobs in how workers climb the job ladder in developing countries. The other exploits unstructured data to inform firm-level responses to macroeconomic shocks in the US. Seminario-Amez holds BA and MA degrees in Economics from Universidad del Pacífico in Lima, Peru.
