Cristiana Belu Manescu

Economist at European Commission

Since 2014, Cristiana Belu Manescu has been an economist in the unit dealing with fiscal governance at the European Commission’s DG ECFIN, carrying out policy and analytical work on national fiscal frameworks, with a focus on fiscal rules. Before that, Cristiana was part of the commodities team at the European Central Bank (ECB) and dedicated her time to developing the new oil price forecasting model of the ECB and to monitoring commodity markets. Cristiana holds a PhD in Financial Economics from the University of Gothenburg, Sweden, during which she researched and published on corporate social responsibility and sustainable development.
