Danny Leipziger

Danny Leipziger is Professor of International Business and International Affairs at George Washington University and Managing Director of the Growth Dialogue. He was Vice-Chair of the Spence Commission on Economic Growth and former Vice President for Poverty Reduction and Economic Management at the World Bank. He has published widely in areas of international economics and economic development, and he has been a commentator on BBC, Bloomberg, CCTV, Arirang and a contributor to Project Syndicate, VoxEU, the Financial Times and other outlets. Among his books are Lessons from East Asia (U. Michigan), Stuck in the Middle (with A. Estache, Brookings), Korea: Transition to Maturity (Pergamon), Basic Needs and Development (O, G&H), and Seabed Minerals and the Economic Interests of Developing Countries (with J. Mudge, Ballinger). Dr. Leipziger has a Ph. D. in economics from Brown University.
