David Fielding

Professor of Economics at University Of Otago

David Fielding is Professor of Economics at the University of Otago. He studied at Oxford University, was a Lecturer at the University of Nottingham and a Professor at the University of Leicester; he has held visiting positions at Princeton University, the United Nations University World Institute for Development Economics Research in Helsinki, and NZ Treasury. He is currently a member of the council of economic advisors to the NZ Minister of Finance. His research interests include development macroeconomics and the political economy of development. Recent publications include analyses of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict (doi: 10.1007/s11166-009-9067-z; doi: 10.1177/0022343308098406), international aid for health programmes (doi: 10.1002/hec.1631) and inter-personal trust in rural Africa (doi: 10.1007/s10683-010-9255-3).
