Duncan Needham is Dean and Senior Tutor of Darwin College and Director of the Centre for Financial History at the University of Cambridge where he teaches history, economics and politics. Before returning to academia, Dr Needham was a credit trader at JP Morgan, specializing in banks and financial institutions, and a fund manager at Cairn Capital. Alongside articles on topics ranging from European monetary history to UK airport policy, he is the author of UK monetary policy from devaluation to Thatcher, 1967–82 and co-editor of Expansionary fiscal contraction: the Thatcher government’s 1981 Budget in perspective.
