Elena Nikolova is an Assistant Professor at the School of Slavonic and East European Studies at University College London. She is also affiliated with the Central European Labour Studies Institute in Slovakia (as a research fellow), with the Leibniz-Institute for East and Southeast European Studies (IOS) - Regensburg in Germany (as an associated researcher), and with the Global Labor Organization (as a fellow). She received her PhD from Princeton University in 2011, and her undergraduate degree from Gettysburg College in the US. She is interested in political economy, economic development, emerging markets, comparative politics and democratisation, and the politics and economics of transition.
