Ellen Meade

Ellen E. Meade has been Associate Professor in the Department of Economics at American University since 2005. Prior to that, she was a Guest Scholar at the Brookings Institution (2004-05), Senior Research Fellow in the Centre for Economic Performance at the London School of Economics (2001-04), Senior Economist for the Council of Economic Advisers (1994-95), and Senior Economist and Economist on staff of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors (1984-94, 1995-99). Professor Meade has published widely and has held affiliations with Chatham House and the American Institute for Contemporary German Studies, been a Visiting Scholar at the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, and a Consultant to the Bank for International Settlements. She has taught courses at Georgetown University, the University of Maryland, Catholic University of Louvain, and the central banks of Bosnia/Herzegovina and Syria. Dr. Meade holds a PhD from Princeton University and a BA from Duke University.
