Erdal Yalcin

Professor of International Economics at HTWG Konstanz

Erdal Yalcin is Professor of International Economics at the University of Applied Sciences Constance (HTWG). He has been the deputy director of the ifo Center for International Economics, ifo Institute for almost a decade, ending in 2018. He studied international economics at the University of Tuebingen and at the School of Business, Economics and Law at Gothenburg University, Sweden. He holds a doctoral degree in economics from Tuebingen University for his thesis on the role of uncertainty in international trade and investment. Dr. Yalcin is member of the CESifo research network and further high-level academic expert groups. His research focuses on economic effects of international trade agreements, on the interaction between international value-chains and firm dynamics, and on the role of uncertainty for trade policy. He has published numerous articles and policy reports in the field of international economics. He is regular visitor and consultant to various European institutions and ministries.
