Erik Hille is an Assistant Professor in Economics at HHL Leipzig Graduate School of Management in Germany. He predominantly does empirical research at the intersection of environmental economics, technological change, and industrial competitiveness. His recent research centers around the question how more stringent climate regulations and innovation support the transition to clean technologies, improve environmental quality, and change the international competitiveness of firms. His analyses have been published in reputable journals, such as the Journal of Environmental Economics and Management, Energy Economics, and Ecological Economics. Moreover, he has taken active roles in various research and consulting projects, funded, among others, by the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research.
