Erik Prawitz is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics and Statistics at Linnéuniversitetet and a Research Fellow at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN). He holds a PhD in economics from the Institute for International Economic Studies (IIES), Stockholm University. His primary research interests are in economic development, political economics and economic history. Examples of ongoing work include the returns to migration during the Age of Mass Migration, the effects of the rollout of a railroad network on the collaboration among inventors, and how a rising metropolis like Stockholm during the second industrial revolution could shape the increase in female labor force participation.
