Ernesto Aguayo-Téllez

Professor of Economics at Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León

Ernesto Aguayo-Téllez recieved his Ph.D. in economics from Rice University in 2005. His areas of interest are labor economics and development economics. He is currently Professor of Economics and Researcher at the Center for Economic Research (CIE) at the Universidad Autónoma de Nuevo León (UANL) in Monterrey, Mexico. Professor Aguayo-Téllez is also member of the Mexican System of Researchers (SNI). Professor Aguayo-Téllez was a Post-doctoral Fellow at Rice University (2005) and at the University of California, San Diego (2006). His research has focused on the impact of trade liberalization and economic reforms on wages, income distribution and inequality, including gender, industry and regional inequality. He is currently working on issues related to internal and international migration, education and gender discrimination and labor market integration in the Mexico-US border.
